Meet Ed Kovacs

 

Teahouse Ed Kovacs grew up in the St. Louis, Missouri area and graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University. He drove a truck and worked in a steel mill to pay for his education; at one point he had five part-time jobs while carrying a full academic load.

He wrote, produced, and directed radio and television commercials in Sioux Falls, South Dakota before moving to California after graduating. He has worked professionally as a radio announcer, actor and stand-up comedian.

Refugee camp He’s been published in Los Angeles, L.A. Weekly, Premiere, Oui, Chic, Transpacific, and many other magazines and newspapers. He has written thirty screenplays using various pen names; nine of his scripts have been made into feature films. He produced the video series Healers on Healing and co-produced “Chi Gong For Patients With HIV” for AIDS Project L.A.

Kovacs has worked in Canada, Israel, Argentina and Thailand. He consulted for media companies in Korea, taught journalism in Cambodia, and crossed more than a few borders illegally.

Pyramids of Ghiza He’s volunteered on archeological digs in Central America, where he was almost killed in a cave, and has studied in classrooms and the bush with shamans, brujos, curenderos, chi gong masters, psychic healers, clairvoyants, medicine chiefs and spiritual practitioners of every stripe in various parts of the world during his extensive travels to over forty countries.

He currently resides in Southern California where he collects sacred objects and WWII vintage military aircraft seats.
